The cryptocurrency ad ban on Facebook shook the crypto space in the most negative way. The news was so shocking that it was even linked to a sharp plunge in bitcoin price after its announcement.
However, after seeing the potential ad revenue that could come from the crypto market, the social media giant is lifting its ban of crypto ads!
But of course, there is a catch.
Facebook will only be allowing ads that come from “pre-approved advisers.” Ads that will be promoting initial coin offerings (ICOs) and binary options will still be banned on the platform.
Advertisers will have to prove their eligibility by going through an application process. During which, Facebook will be asking them for relevant background information about the business.
