If you think that the use-cases for cryptocurrencies are pretty limited—think again! It is now possible to buy a house with it!
Global real-estate platform Propy recently announced that it will be accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple as payment for one of its listings on their website. This move marks the beginning of the company’s adoption of cryptocurrencies as payment for real estate.
The property in question is for a land that measures roughly 27 acres, or almost 100 sq. km in the center of Silicoin Valley. Located on Shannon Road, on top of the Los Gatos Hills, the property is offered exclusively on Propy and commands a price of $16 million.
Around 10 homes can be built on the property, which is said to be overlooking some of the “most pristine lands in Northern California”. The property is located near the headquarters of prominent tech companies like Apple, Netflix and Google.
The property is also located near prominent educational institutions like Stanford University and America’s top private high school, Harker.
The official listing goes like this:
“This is one of the largest pieces of land left that are for sale in Silicon Valley. Its location, view, and community make it a rare opportunity for buyers who want to build their roots in one of the most preferred places to live in the country.”
