Unocoin, India’s leading cryptocurrency exchange, announced the listing of five Ethereum-based ERC20 digital tokens on Friday. The said tokens are as follows: Zilliqa (ZIL), FunFair (FUN), Bread (BRD), Golem (GNT) and Basic Attention Token (BAT).
The listings of FUN and BRD tokens marks the first time either tokens were made available on a domestically-based Indian cryptocurrency exchange, which is not at all surprising considering the fact that Coincheck has their market cap ranking pegged at #74 and #211, respectively.
As for Golem, Zilliqa and Basic Attention Token, Unocoin’s announcement on Friday marks yet another listing on a domestic indian cryptocurrency exchange.
GNT and BAT were already tradable on four of India’s major cryptocurrency exchanges –Koinex, Zebpay, Coindelta and BuyUcoin. For ZIL, on the other hand, its listing on Unocoin marks the fourth Indian exchange to have made it available for trade on its platform.
NEW LISTINGS CRIPPLED WITH DEPOSIT ISSUES
A technical issue related to Unocoin’s digital wallet has unfortunately marred news of the five ERC20 token listings. As CEO Sathvik Vishwanath explained in his weekend press release, roughly 235 deposit transactions—mostly involving ZIL tokens—“did not get credited to user accounts”.
Although “all new deposits and all other types of transactions are happening on Unocoin without any issue”, the company is still waiting for an explanation from their wallet infrastructure provider, BitGo, on when these transactions will be processed. Once resolved, Unocoin promised to provide “200 INR worth coupon in BTC” to all affected customers.
