Nokia will be partnering with blockchain data platform Streamr to let its customers monetize their data and make purchases.
Streamr CEO Henri Pihkala announced the partnership during the CoinDesk Consensus 2018 Conference as he conducted a live launch of the Streamer real-time data marketplace
This partnership will allow Nokia’s Kuha base stations to integrate with the data marketplace and allow Nokia customers to monetize user data and buy streams from Streamr from the convenience of their Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Radio System Evolution Lead at Nokia, Martti Ylikoski, said in a statement:
“We recognize a growing movement of empowered mobile customers who want to control and monetize their own data. Our partnership with Streamr reflects our firm belief in the platform.”
Customers will be able to buy and sell data streams using Ethereum smart contracts and DATAcoin, an ERC-20 token.
